DUST EXTRACTION SYSTEMS The dust free bodyshop is a universal ideal. Nobody could deny the advantages of a cleaner, healthier working environment or the economic benefits that can be achieved by capturing dust at source. For the operative, efficient dust extraction means freedom to work faster and more efficiency without the hindrance of a mask and with confidence that their health is not being compromised. For the bodyshop proprietor, dust extraction can lead to greater profitability through consistent quality, better productivity, reduced operating costs and improved retention and recruitment of skilled staff. for the automotive refinishing industry and have a The C-air dust extraction programme has been developed over many years to reflect the changing needs of the modern bodyshop. Its not so many years ago that operations such as DA sanding, hand sanding, grinding and welding were carried out without the benefits of extraction at source but thanks to the widespread availability of dust extracted tools and ready access to a vacuum extraction point at every bay, the dust free workshop is now a reality. Vacuum extraction points can be provided in numerous ways to best suit the bodyshop being served, these may include: Fixed points, located on a wall or column, comprising self closing flap valves, terminated at a convenient height, to which hoses are attached when required. Flexible suspended points, are intended to make connection to the system as easy as possible The self closing flap valve is suspended from above with a flexible joint at high level so as to hang between work bays but mid-way along the vehicles. Since air tools are almost universally employed, a compressed air connection is frequently suspended with the dust drop forming a convenient pick up point for both services.
E-PAK Dust Extraction Units have lots of Extras C-air Systems Ltd. use exclusively the Nederman E-PAK range of dust extraction units in its bodyshop dust extraction programme.
A new filtration system with increased filter area, improves air flow and auto cleaning, supplied as standard, maintains the efficiency of the Teflon coated filters. A multifunction integral control panel is fully pre-wired to simplify installation and includes options whereby the E-PAK unit can be run either continuously, or accept a pilot signal for remote switching and economy running. A choice of three turbines, 3kw, 5kW and 13 kw, ensures that there is an E-PAK unit to suit any size of bodyshop. Additional safety features include both thermal and electrical oveload protection, built in pressure relief valve(s), bag collection for the dust and debris and finally an optional hours run meter. A recent addition to the range is the E-PAK 1000 AS model which features Power Logic control of the turbine output. In simple terms this unit senses the amount of air flow needed, based on the number of points in use, and automatically adjusts the speed of the turbine to vary its output. This gives an even vacuum flow throughout the system and with its motor rating varying seamlessly between 6.3 and 17.3 kw, this unique model can produce considerable savings when running costs are compared with comparable fixed output units. |
